

A significant amount of the murdered men and women were last seen at a bar and were most likely shot or strangled. Unlike most of the country, Louisiana’s most active decade was 2000-2010. Big shout out to the City of Death: Baton Rouge, who claims 70 victims since 1997 when tracking began. Since 1900, 276 victims have been attributed to a serial killer in this state.

In Louisiana, you are more likely to be shot….but less likely to be involved in a mass murder. A notoriously violent state, it’s often considered the “Murder Capital of the US” due to their excessively high murder rate per capita.
